    Kentucky Butter Cake with Butter Sauce

    List of Ingredients

    3 cups all-purpose flour
    2 3/4 cups sugar, divided
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 1/3 cups butter, divided
    4 tsp vanilla extract, divided
    4 eggs
    3 tblsp water
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking powder

    Grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan. Blend together on low speed of mixer the flour, 2 cups sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, buttermilk, 1 cup butter, 2 tsp vanilla and eggs. Beat for 3 minutes on medium speed. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 60 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven, or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. As soon as you take the cake from the oven, prepare the Butter Sauce.

    To Make Butter Sauce: In a saucepan, combine the remaining 3/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup butter, 2 tsp vanilla and water. Cook over medium heat, until fully melted and combined, but do not boil. Poke holes in the hot cake and slowly pour the sauce over the cake. Let cake cool completely before removing from the pan.
