Red Chocolate Cake (Red Velvet)

Red Chocolate Cake (Red Velvet)
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
3 cups sugar
1 cup Crisco
4 eggs
6 tbl cocoa (made into a paste with alittle water)
3 tbl red food coloring
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups buttermilk
2 tbl vinegar
2 tsp baking soda
Makes 2 9x13 pans
Sift flour and salt together. Set aside.
Cream: sugar and Crisco
Add: eggs and beat well.
Add: cocoa paste, food coloring, and vanilla. Beat well.
Slowly add buttermilk alternately with flour mixture. Mix well.
Add vinegar. Mix well.
Fold in baking soda.
Bake at 350 degrees. Times vary on pans used.
