    Banana Bisque

    List of Ingredients




    3/4 cup sugar
    3/4 cup water
    3 eggs
    1 pt. cream, whipped
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    3/4 cup BANANA pulp
    1/2 cup maraschino cherries, cut in small pieces
    1/2 cup macaroon crumbs

    Recipe




    Mix sugar and water together and bring to the boiling point. Pour slowly over the beaten eggs.
    Cook over boiling water until thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Fold in the whipped cream.
    Mix lemon juice with the banana pulp (bananas pressed through a sieve). Fold in the banana pulp, cherries and macaroon crumbs.
    Pour into a mold, put a piece of waxed paper over the top and adjust the cover.
    Pack in 2 parts ice and one part rock salt for four hours (suggested alternative: use freezer compartment of refrigerator, remember-- this is from 1927). Unmold and garnish with whipped cream.
    Yield: Serves 4
