Chocolate Butter Roll

This is one of my Grandmother's recipes that sounds something like you described.

1 cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Butter or margarine
1 pie crust recipe rolled into a rectangle
Milk

Mix sugar, flour, cocoa powder and salt and spread evenly on pie crust. Sprinkle vanilla over the chocolate mixture and dot with butter. Roll up like a jelly roll
and place into a greased pan. Brush top with melted butter. Pour milk around roll until it is about 1/4 inch deep in the pan. Bake in a preheated 300 degree
oven until crust is brown and crispy and milk is absorbed - about 1 hour.
