Easy Blackberry Dessert

2 cups fresh blackberries
1 cup sugar
Pie pastry

Cook berries and sugar for 5 minutes. Roll pastry out and cut into strips. Place on cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees until brown. Place strips in dessert dishes, pour hot fruit over pastry just before serving. Top with Cool Whip or ice cream. Canned or frozen berries can be substituted for fresh, adding 1/4 teaspoon food coloring.
