Raspberry Pudding
List of Ingredients
2 Level cups flour
2-1/2 level tablespoons shortening
1-1/2 level tsp Rumford baking powder
1 cup milk
1 level tsp salt 1 egg
Raspberries
Sift the dry ingredients together. Work in the shortening, and mix to a soft dough with milk. Add egg, well beaten, last. Spread a thin layer in a buttered pan, cover with an inch layer of black or red raspberries, and then cover with a final layer of dough. Place in a steamer and steam three-quarters of an hour. Serve with hard sauce.
Recipe
"Hard Sauce"
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp brandy
Beat all together till creamy, and pile on a glass plate.
