    Steamed Persimmon Pudding

    List of Ingredients




    Steamed Persimmon Pudding

    300-325 degrees for 2 hours

    Mix: 1 cup sugar
    1 cup flour
    2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp cinnamon (Sift together)


    Add: 1 cup persimmon pulp (take soft hachiya persimmons and scoop out inside, place in blender and blend til mixed
    3 Tablespoons hot water
    2 T melted butter
    1 Tsp vanilla
    1 cup chopped raisins
    1/2 cup dates
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts

    To steam this pudding, I place large low pan of water, with the pudding pan
    placed inside that. I double and triple the recipe, so that I can make
    Christmas gifts for everyone. Persimmons, I understand, grow wild
    throughout the country. But you need the kind that gets soft and
