"Oysters Mosca" is a registered trademark, but every restaurant with even a little Italianness makes a version of itAll you need is a shallow baking dish (a ramekin or au gratin dish is perfect). Serve with a warning about the heat of the dish, which will be tongue-burning hot!
Ingredients:
24 large oysters, partially drained
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 Tbs. finely chopped garlic
1 Tbs. chopped Italian parsley
2 cups seasoned Italian bread crumbs
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 Tbs. softened butter
Recipe
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
1. Put the oysters in the bottom of the baking dish. (Three or four for an appetizer, six for a main dish.)
2. Sprinkle on the rest of the ingredients in the order listed above and put the dish in the preheated oven for five to eight minutes--until the dish is bubbling and the bread crumbs on top start to brown.
Serves six appetizers or four entrees.
