    Blueberries & Peaches with Cream

    List of Ingredients




    4 large peaches
    2 tablespoons lemon juice
    1 cup fresh (or frozen) blueberries
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
    whipping cream or half-and-half

    To peel peaches, half-fill a large saucepan with hot water, bring to a boil, and add peaches, 2 at a time. Boil each batch for 30 seconds, then remove peaches and rinse with cold water. Use a small knife to carefully slip off skins.
    Slice peaches thinly (you should have about 5 cups); place in a medium bowl and mix lightly with lemon juice and blueberries. In a small bowl mix sugar, nutmeg, and lemon rind. Add sugar mixture to peach mixture and mix lightly. Let stand about 30 minutes before serving. Spoon mixture into bowls.
    Pour cream over peaches to taste. Serves 6.
