Make a standard white cake [see recipe in heirlooms or use mix per Phil] and bake in buttered 3 layer cake pans. Put the layers together and spread top and sides with fluffy frosting. Decorate the edge of the cake with tiny fire crackers made out of candy [mazapain would be great here. Use red food dye per Phil] arrange these fence post fashion around the edges of cake. Put a large firecracker in the center. [might want to use very small cans and make the firecracker cake recipe for this on this website under holiday specials] Surround this with torpedoes which are Bon-Bons wrapped in tinfoil and twisted so they look like Torpedoes. Put a small flag on the top of the Big firecracker. Great for a grand finish at a 4th of July get together.
