    Skillet Corn Bread

    1 1/2 cups white cornmeal
    1/2 cup flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 cup sweet milk
    3 Tbsp. bacon fat

    • Melt bacon fat in 8 inch iron skillet, coating sides.
    • Combine dry ingredients; then, stir all together, adding bacon fat last. Pour into skillet.
    • Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
    • Serve hot with lots of sweet butter.
