    Molded Chef's Salad


    List of Ingredients


    • 6 oz lemon or lime gelatin
    • 2 tsp salt
    • 2 cups boiling water
    • 1 cup cold water
    • 3 tbs vinegar
    • 3/4 cup thin cooked ham strips [approx 4 oz]
    • 3/4 cup thin Swiss or American Cheese strips [approx 4 oz]
    • 1/4 cup fine sliced scallions or red onion
    • 1/2 small green pepper, cut in strips


    Instructions


    1. Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water. Add cold water and vinegar and chill until thickened.

    2. Fold in remaining ingredients. Pour into 5 cup mold or metal mixing bowl. Chill until firm [at least 6 hours or overnight] Unmold and garnish with lemon and tomaot wediges if desired [plus fancy lettuce works too]



    Final Comments


    Makes 4 1/2 cups or 4 entree servings
