Butter Cake

List of Ingredients




1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
1/2 teaspoon orange extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract



Recipe



Cream the butter
Add the sugar gradually
When the mixture is fluffy, ad the well beaten eggs and beat thoroughly
Combine flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix well
Add the vanilla, lemon extract, orange extract, and almond extract to the milk
Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk to the sugar mixture
Beat thoroughly after each addition
Grease and flour 2 eight inch layer pans
Pour the batter into the prepared pans
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes
