Cream Pie
List of Ingredients
CREAM PIES
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons corn starch
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg yolks (reserve egg whites*)
Melt butter in 2 quart sauce pan. Add milk, sugar, and salt. Mix cornstarch with a little milk and add to the mixture in the sauce pan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Use this as your basic pudding for all cream pies, such as banana, peanut butter, and coconut.
Line baked pie shell with your choice flavors from the above list. Fill with pudding and top with your favorite topping.
*If you are not using egg white for meringue, place the egg white in an air tight container and freeze for future use. Each time you need only egg yolks, add the egg white to container. These can be thawed for use in meringues and angel food cakes, etc.
