    Custard Pie

    List of Ingredients




    CUSTARD PIE
    4 eggs
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2-1/2 cups milk, scalded

    Separate eggs. Beat egg whites until fluffy and holds light peaks. Beat yolks and add sugar, salt, and vanilla. Gradually add milk to egg mixture and fold in egg whites last. Pour into 9 inch pie shell. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° and bake for another 20 minutes. The top will be dark brown. For variations place a layer of raisins, fresh peaches, or raspberries in the bottom of crust before adding milk.
