    Grammy Lerch's Oatmeal Mush
    Brown in a hot pan, 1 generous pound [1 1/8 pound] of oatmeal or [ course
    ground wheat flour]. Add about 1/3 cup of water and a dash of salt [to your
    liking]. This makes a pretty thick dough. Put about 3 tablespoons of Lard
    in a large Iron Skillet and let it get hot, then pour your thick oatmeal
    mush in there and, using two forks, break it apart into small pieces as it
    frys. Serve this up with lots of sweet cream butter . We always added lots
    of butter and poured oodles of homemade "brown sugar syrup" over that.
    This is very "high calorie" but it sure sticks to your ribs and you don't
    get too hungry for awhile.
