Ham and Bean Soup
List of Ingredients
1 pound of navy beans
1 meaty ham bone (1 1/2 pounds)
1 small bay leaf
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 cup of carrots, cubed
2 1/2 quarts of water
1 cup of celery, thinly sliced
1 clove of garlic
1 cup cubed potatoes
1 cup of onions, finely chopped
Recipe
Simmer the beans and ham bone in water for 2 hours
Add the balance of the ingredients
Simmer for 2 more hours, or until the beans are tender
