Harvard Beets
List of Ingredients
Siesz uun Saaver-e Roet Riev-e
(Sweet and Sour Red Beets)
3 c beets, cooked, sliced or diced +/-
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water
Mix together the dry ingredients. Add vinegar and water and stir until smooth. Cook 5 minutes. Add beets and let stand 30 minutes. Before serving heat to boiling point and add butter(if desired).
