    Paw Paw's Knockrell

    List of Ingredients




    First cousin to the Spaetzel. Difference is true spaetzel almost always uses milk or cream, and knockrell is always made with water.


    Mix together well:

    3 cups all-purpose flour
    1 cup water
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 large egg

    Let mixture rest at room temperature for 20 minutes. Cut into very small pea-shapes and drop into boiling water. Drain and serve with sour-cream based gravy-like Weiner Schnitzel And Dill Sauce. Do not add oil to the water, or the sauce will slide right off of the knockrell.
