    List of Ingredients




    Schnitz and Knepp

    1 1/2 to 2 lbs. ham, hocks or butt end
    1 8oz. pkg. sour dried apple snits
    6 cups water
    1/4 c brown sugar, packed light
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg.

    Knepp - Dumplings

    1 c flour - 1 egg
    2 tbsp. melted butter
    1 tsp. sugar - 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c milk
    2 tsp. baking powder

    Cover Ham with water add salt. Cook until tender, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Remove ham add snits, brown sugar, and nutmeg. Bring to boiling point and
    cook on low heat 30 minutes. Prepare knepp while snits are cooking. Add
    all ingredients together. Drop by tbsp. on totp of snits while boiling,
    cover and simmer 20 minutes longer. Add sliced ham and serve.

    Knepp will be lon the dry side - do not add more milk. Makes 4 servings.
