2 eggs
1 cup coffee cream
2 teaspoons salt
4 cups sifted flour
Beat the eggs and add to the cream. Add the salt and flour gradually to form a stiff dough. Roll out the dough, a quarter at a time, to a very thin sheet. Cut this round of dough into sections 4 or 5 inches wide. Cut each section (using a pastry wheel, if you have one) into half-inch strips, cutting only to within 1 inch of outer edge so that section stays intact.
Fry 1 or 2 sections at a time, depending on size of deep-fat fryer. Fat should be heated to 365 degrees. Turning once, fry until sticks have turned a light brown. Serve warm. Serves 6 to 8.
