Vanilla Ice Cream

4 egg yolks
2/3 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups cream
Beat egg yolks and sugar well, scald milk and combine with egg mixture.
Cook over hot water in a double boiler until thickened.
Cool. Strain and add to cream which has been whipped and freeze in an ice tray of refrigerator.
