    Fried Apple Pie

    List of Ingredients

    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    1/2 c. cold milk

    Filling:
    6 to 8 apples
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 c. sugar

    Blend flour, baking powder, salt, shortening and milk
    together until it forms a ball. Divide dough into 6 pieces.
    Roll each into a 6-inch circle. Prick dough with fork. Fill
    with 3 to 4 tablespoons filling. Fold dough over filling and
    seal the edges. Fry in 2 to 3-inches of oil which is 350 degrees.
    Fry until golden brown on one side, then turn over and brown on
    the other side. Cool, then frost.
    Filling: Pare and slice the apples thinly. Place in
    saucepan and cook until done, but not mushy. Add sugar and
    cinnamon. More sugar can be added if needed.
