    Your Basic Pie Crust

    List of Ingredients

    for 2 pie shells or 1 pie with top & bottom crust

    2 cups flour
    2/3 cup shortening (Crisco or other solid vegetable shortening
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 cup cold water

    Preparation - Combine ingredients and mix with fork to form dough. Wrap in wax paper and chill at least 2 hours. Roll on well-floured pastry cloth.
    use according to specific pie recipe or, for a pre-baked pie shell, bake at 400º for 10 minutes.

    Phil's note don't look to me for instructions on this one. I have abandoned all hope of making a good pie crust. I can take a perfect recipe and well... we won't go there....
    For everyone else it turns out wonderful.

    I swear by the red boxes with the little fat white puffy guy on the cover.
