This isnt very complex, I learned it from an
old Jackson County Boy (North Florida, which is
the same thing as Lower Alabama).
Take a fryer chicken from the Winn Dixie, one of them little ones.
Lay it out on a large sheet of foil and spice that yard
bird with what ever it is that you like. I like salt and
pepper myself.
Put some butter in the bird and wrap it up in the foil,
completely. One layer will be enough I think.
Then take an old one gallon coffe can and heat up
8-10 good quality charcoal briquets in the bottom of
it.
Once thay ash over good stick that bird wrapped in
foil down into the can, it should be a tight fit.
Let er go for about 2-3 hours and then eat, if you did it
right the meat should fall off the bone real easy.
Warning: Make sure you put the can somewhere up high while cooking,
my first time doing this I cooked on my front stoop and a stray
dog came over right before the bird was done and ate it.
