    Philly Hoagie

    List of Ingredients

In good old Philadelphia God has blessed the hungry with many things
available nowhere else, Scrapple, Soft Pretzels and of course Italian rolls made by Amoroso. Out here all we get is San Francisco Sour Dough bread so for now we'll have to use it or a reasonable substitute. It's
funny that out here most Sour Dough Bread is made by Italian Bakeries
but I guess when they crossed the Mississippi they must have forgotten how to make True Italian Bread and Rolls.
    You Will Need.
Long Rolls (Use a Sour Dough Baguette fresh as possible if you
can't get true Italian style rolls)....................................................
Fresh sliced real American Cheese or Provolone or both............
Dry Salami sliced, good sliced ham, or thin sliced roast beef or
any "real" meat you might like....................................................
The nicest Tomatoes you can find (cut Thin)..............................
    Lettuce (kinda shred it).................................................................
Good Olive Oil, Red Wine Vinegar, Italian Seasoning (Dry)........

    How To Do IT
Cut and HOLLOW out the roll. This is very important..............

Shake a dollop of a mixture of 2/3 Olive Oil, 1/3 Red Wine Vinegar and
Italian Seasoning over the inside of the hollowed out roll........................
Place open roll so that you can start layering BOTH SIDES....................
I like to start with the cheese first. Some people start with the meat but
my method makes for less leakage................................................................
Layer the meat any way you wish..................................................................
    Layer of thin sliced Tomato.............................................................................
I like to mix the thin sliced onion and shredded Lettuce together and put
    a generous layer on Roll.................................................................................
Shake some more Olive Oil Mix over all.......................................................
Shake a little dry Italian Seasoning on top...................................................
Take the dull side of your Kitchen knife, press down and close Roll........
Serve with a side order Sweet or Hot Italian Cherry Peppers.................
