Creamed Savoy Cabbage German
List of Ingredients
1 lg or 2 med, heads of savoy cabbage, shredded
3 T butter
1 t onion salt
3 T flour
reserved water from cooking
salt
pepper
Recipe
Put the cabbage in water, and bring to a boil. Cook just till fork tender, and
remove from liquid. Reserve the liquid !
In a sauce pan, melt the butter and the onion powder, let it toast about 1 min.
Then add the flour, and use a wisk to stir mixture. Slowly let it cook till golden
brown and then add enough of the reserved water to make a thick sauce.
Add the cabbage to the sauce, salt and pepper. If the sauce is to thick for you,
just add a little more of the cooking broth
