Buffalo Wings an alternate recipe

This is not the authentic Buffalo wing recipe, but it has its merit, and so it belongs in this file.
2 1/2 pounds wings trimmed and separated
1 cup flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 cup water
1/2 stick butter/margarine
4 - 5 tablespoons tobasco, or hot sauce
enough oil to deep fry Recipe
Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, water, and oregano in a bowl.
In a saucepan, melt butter. Add hot sauce to melted butter. (a little experimentation withamounts will be necessary to find the right amount of heat for you.) After mixing the butter/hot sauce, lower heat.
Dip wings in batter, coating them as much as possible.
Heat frying oil to medium high and deep fry wings until brown and crisp, 10 to 15 minutes. Drain on a paper towel.
Put wings in saucepan, and toss to coat evenly. Transfer to platter and serve with Blue Cheese (traditional) or Ranch dressing and celery sticks.
