Nasi himpit ( Rice cubes)
This is a recipe for rice cubes.Rice squished into solid cubes. Something like japanese rice balls but they are a lot more compact. Rice cubes are to be eaten with Soto Ayam (Check it out at Soups) or Satay (at Poultry).
List of Ingredients
- 2 cups of rice
- 3 screwpine leave (if you can't find this, you can leave it out)
- 3.5 cups of water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Clean rice, cook in water and screpine leave. Add salt.
- Screwpine leave gives aroma to the rice cubes.
- When rice is cooked, remove from pot and put in tray.
- Cover with thin cotton cloth. Compress it with something heavy.
- Leave it aside for half a day.
- Cut it into cubes. Serve with Satay sauce or Soto Ayam.
