Better 'n Bayou Red Beans and Rice

List of Ingredients
1 pound dried red beans, rinsed
2 or 3 smoked ham hocks
1 to 1 1/2 pounds Eckrich smoked sausage, andouille or Polish sausage, sliced
1 1/2 pound ultra-lean ground beef
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 or 2 medium onions, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 bay leaves
Salt, pepper
Sugar to taste
Recipe
Place all ingredients in a large slow cooker (otherwise, you must pre-soak the red beans as directed on package). Add just enough water to barely cover ingredients. Cover and cook on low setting about 8 hours or until beans are tender. Remove bay leaves before serving over hot cooked rice
