Recipe Introduction
My husband asked me to write this one down because he was afraid I might not be able to recreate it.
List of Ingredients
- 1C Dry mixed beans (lentils, black, pinto, whatever)
- 3C Chicken broth
- 2C Water
- 1/2C Chopped fennel
- 1/2C Chopped carrots
- 1 12oz can tomato sauce
- 1 6oz can tomato paste
- 2 Cloves garlic, chopped
- 2Tbs Chopped fresh rosemary
- 1tsp Cilantro
- 1tsp Ground ginger
- 1tsp Liquid smoke
- 2Tbs Worchestershire sauce (or to taste)
- 1tsp Sea salt
- Pepper to taste
- 1 Bay leaf
- 2 Green onions chopped
- 2Tbs Chopped espazote (the flatulence stopping herb)
- 1lb ground, cooked Elk
- grated cheese to taste
Instructions
- Soak beans in 8C water overnight. Drain, rinse, and place in crock pot.
- Add all remaining ingredients (you can change to herbs depending on what you have, or what you like)except cheese. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Add cheese, and serve.
