Sweet and Sour Meatballs

These are always a favorite, and the meatballs (without the sauce) can be frozen.
List of Ingredients
- 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
- SAUCE:
- 1 cup water
- 1 Tbsp. beef bouillion powder
- 14 oz. pineapple tidbits, with juice
- 2-3 green peppers, cut into strips
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 cup vinegar (can be reduced to 3/4 cup)
- 2 Tbsp. soya sauce
Instructions
- Stir first 7 ingredients in bowl.
- Add beef. Mix. Shape into 1 inch balls. Arrange on baking sheet with sides. Cook in 375 F oven for 15 to 20 minutes until cooked. Transfer to small roaster, or large casserole.
- SAUCE:
- Place water, powder, pineapple with juice, and green pepper in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Simmer, covered, for 4 minutes until green pepper is teneder crisp.
- Mix cornstarch, sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce insmall bowl. Stir into boiling mixture until it boils and thickens. Pour over meatballs. To serve later, heat in 350 F oven for 1 1/2 hours. Turn oven to 200 F to hold.
