Ambrosia.html
As you may know, in Greek mythology, Ambrosia was the nectar only the gods
in Olympus were allowed to taste. This is near enough to my taste,
specially as I remeber how it tasted when my grandmother made it and we
poached on the cooling plate... Old times when cholesterol wasn't given a
thought.
List of Ingredients
- 750 grams sugar
- 7 eggs
- 2 egg whites
- teaspoon vanilla essence
- 3 spoonfuls lemon juice
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Make a syrup with the sugar some vanilla extract drops and 2 cups of water.
- Apart beat the eggs and egg whites with the milk, add to the syrup and cook
over low heat, stirring all the time until it turns into a liquid granular
mass.
- Add the lemon juice and cook a little more until it thickens as much
as you like it.
