try this authentic recipe handed down to me from my mother. the key to this awesome meal is the sauerkraut
List of Ingredients
- 1 lbs ground beef
- 1 lbs ground pork
- 1 lrge head of cabbage
- 2 cups of white rice
- 1 liter of tomato juice
- 1 jar of wine sauerkraut
- pepper to taste
- salt to taste
- one big ass pot to cook in
Instructions
- in a large bowl, throw in the pork and the beef, then add the rice,pepper and salt. mix together
- in order to wrap your cabbage rolls you need to blanch your cabbage leaves in boiling water for a couple of minutes
- when ready to roll, take one leaf, a small handful of the mixture and roll it up. layer in large pot and continue until all the mixture is finished.
- remember to layer the cabbage rolls with tomato and sauerkraut between them
- cook for 3 to 4 hours at 350 °f
- enjoy with you favorite beer and a french loaf of bread
