Recipe Introduction
White pizza is one of our family favorites...it is more commonly known as garlic pizza. My kids even love it!
List of Ingredients
- 1 pkg. of dry yeast
- 1/4 cup lukewarm water
- 1 tbs. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tbs. shortening
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 3/4 cups flour
Instructions
- Soften yeast in lukewarm water for 10 minutes. Place sugar, salt, and shortening and boiling water in a large bowl: stir until sugar dissolves. Cool til lukewarm: add yeas. Add 1 1/2 cups flour and beat until smooth. Add remaining flour and knead until smooth.
Mold into a cookie sheet , make sure that you make a slight rim at the edges. Let rise about 15 minutes.
Brush crust with oil (preferrable olive but vegtable works fine) spread chopped garlic evenly over the oil (you may have to play with this a bit until you find
the ammount that you like I use about 2-3 tablespoons).
Sprinkle Mozzerella cheese over the garlic. I like to add mushrooms and artichoke hearts (it is a great combonation! Even the kids really love it) Or you may add what you like. Bake pizza for about 20-25 minutes or until done @ 425*
Final Comments
Chopped garlic can be found in a easy to use form in the baking isle in your grocery store. You can find it in a jar over near the spices. I find that this is much easier to use and tastes better for garlic pizza and garlic bread than powdered!!
