Recipe Introduction
In the 1920's, when Girl Scout Cookies were first thought up, a general recipe was handed down to each troop and each girl made her own and sold them.
List of Ingredients
6 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
Recipe
Cream softened butter & sugar in lg. bowl. Add eggs, milk & vanilla and mix well.
In separate bowl, mix flour, salt and baking powder. Add
slowly to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Refrigerate for at least 2 hrs.
When ready to bake, spoon out enough to roll out on pastry board leaving rest in refrigerator. Roll to 1/8" thickness & cut w/cookie cutters.
Bake at 375 for 6 to 8 mins. Cool on wire rack. Let cookie sheet cool before putting fresh dough on it.
