New Years Casserole

5 pork chops
2 jars sauerkraut
2 cans back eyed peas drained
3 cups mashed potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
4 tbls butter or margarine

Pour 1 jar sauerkraut in casserole dish (juice and all)
Lay pork chops over kraut; add salt and pepper add potatoes on top. Put 1/2 of butter on top of that
Add peas over potatoes then pour last jar of kraut over that (drain 1/2 juice off) top with remaining butter
Bake at 300-350º till pork is fully cooked
Serve with homemade bread or rolls
