List of Ingredients
1 medium green cabbage, shredded
1/2 LB fresh green beans, cut in 1/2 inch pieces
1 small onion, grated
1 large carrot, finely grated
2 ribs celery, with leaves, finely choppedRecipe
DRESSING
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp caraway seeds
1 tsp celery seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
3 Tbsp canola oil
3 Tbsp water
DIRECTIONS: For the dressing combine the vinegar, sugar, caraway seeds, celery seeds, turmeric, salt, canola oil & water in a sauce pan. Cook for several minutes over medium heat until the mixture boils & the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat & cool. For the slaw, cook the beans for about 4-5 minutes or until just tender. Drain & rinse under cold water. In a large bowl combine the shredded cabbage, onion, celery & carrots. Add the cooled beans, dressing & toss. Refrigerate overnight. Lightly toss again before serving.
