    Recipe Introduction

They may look complicated, but these are very simple to make (and even better to eat!)

    List of Ingredients

    • Water - 1 cup
    • Butter - 1/4 lb. (1 stick)
    • Flour - 1 cup
    • Salt 1/4 tsp.
    • Eggs - 4
    • Whipping Cream - 1/2 pint
    • Milk - 3 cups
    • Vanilla pudding mix (non-instant kind!) - 2 small boxes

    Instructions

    1. SHELLS: Preheat oven to 450.
    2. In medium saucepan, melt butter in water.
    3. Add salt and flour. Mix by hand until a thick ball forms. Remove from heat. Let sit to cool awhile.
    4. Add 1 egg, and mix in completely by hand. Repeat for eggs 2 through 4, adding one at a time.
    5. Spoon golfball-sized (or slightly larger) lumps onto a greased cookie sheet and bake at 450 for 15 minutes.
    6. Lower oven temp to 325 and bake for another 25 minutes. Turn off oven.
    7. Remove shells and cut the tops off. Place open shells and tops back in oven (turned off!) for 20 minutes.
    8. FILLING: Combine pudding mixes with milk in a saucepan (ignore directions on pudding boxes).
    9. Heat, stirring constantly, until pudding thickens.
    10. Pour into bowl and cover with plastic wrap, making sure to press wrap against surface of pudding (to avoid the top layer getting hard).
    11. Refridgerate until thick (several hours).
    12. Shortly before serving time, beat whipping cream until frothy. Add pudding mixture and mix.
    13. Pour filling into shells, cover with shell tops, and dust with powdered sugar.
