    List of Ingredients


    • 4 cups water
    • 1/2 cup white vinegar
    • 1 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
    • 3/4 cup ketchup
    • 6 tbsp cornstarch
    • 2/3 cup water


    Instructions


    1. Combine 4 cups water with vinegar, sugar, lemon juice and ketchup....heat to boiling.
    2. Combine cornstarch with 2/3 cup water and stir in until mixture boils and is clear.
    3. If desired .. add a few drops of red food colouring to brighten to a sparkling red.


    Final Comments


    Makes 1 1/2 litres, stores refrigerated for up to 3 weeks or may be frozen.
    ** Vary by adding soy sauce and finely minced garlic to taste or pineapple tidbits (use the juice instead of water in the recipe)
