1 c. self rising cornmeal mix
1/2 c. self rising flour
1 tb. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk or beer
1/2 c. diced onion
1/2 c. chopped green bell pepper
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
vegetable oil

Recipe



Combine all until moistened. Pour oil to 3" depth in dutch oven, heat to 375*. Drop batter by rounded tablespoonfuls into hot oil, and fry in batches 2 min oneach side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, serve immediately. Yield: 1 1/2 dozen
