    1 package dry yeast
    1/2 cup warm water
    1 1/2 cup scalded milk
    2 tablespoons sugar
    2 teaspoons salt
    1/4 cup shortening

    Recipe



    Soften yeast in the warm water

    Add yeast mixture and flour to make moderately stiff dough. Knead until smooth. Let rise. Puch down and let rise again for 10 minutes. Roll to slightly less then 1/2". Cut with 3" cutter. Cover and let rise until light. Bake on range - medium heat, greased griddle; turning frequently for about 30 minutes. Cool throughly.

    Makes 2 dozen
