    Italian Cookies

    Shirley (Fisette) Harvey--whose family we've known for AGES--provided this excellent recipe.


    6 eggs
    1-1/2 cups sugar
    6 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    5 cups all-purpose flour
    6 tsp. baking powder


    Combine all ingredients thoroughly. Form into balls. Bake on greased cookie sheets for 8 minutes in a preheated 375º F. oven.

    Glaze:

    Mix 1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar with 3 to 4 Tbsp. hot water and 1 tsp. vanilla extract until the mixture reaches the desired consistency. Dip cookies in glaze, then sprinkle on toppings as desired.
