    Chestine Butler's Meat Loaf

    List of Ingredients

2 lbs. ground meat (I usually opt for beef, but turkey'd work)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 cup celery, chopped
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 can tomato soup
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3 eggs, well beaten
    1 onion, chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    2 cups hard bread, crumbled

    1/2 cup ketchup

    Recipe

Land sakes alive!! If this ain't one of the finest meat loaf recipes you ever did sink your teeth into, then my name ain't...well, you get the picture! I usually eliminate the celery, but often use the green pepper. It's fine without both, however. (I think it's the tomato soup/baking powder that makes the difference. But I guess only Chestine Butler knows for sure...)

Work everything into the ground meat except the ketchup. You've got to use your hands. When blended, put in a greased glass baking dish and cover with the ketchup.
Bake at 375º F. for one hour being careful not to let it burn.
Chestine slices it and makes cold sandwiches with mayonnaise and mustard. Serves 6.
