Pork Chops in San Francisco Sauce
I found this recipe on Gail's Recipe Swap at epicurious.com.
Somehow I neglected to jot down the name of the person who posted it, but whoever they are, they have come up with a truly delicious way to cook "the other white meat". Enjoy!!
4 1-inch thick pork chops
1 clove garlic, minced
4 Tbsp. sherry
4 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. vegetable oil
dash Tabasco sauce
2 Tbsp. cold water
2 Tsp. cornstarch
Brown pork chops. Remove from pan and add garlic. Cook just until soft. Add pork chops. Make sauce from sherry, soy sauce, brown sugar, vegetable oil and Tabasco. Pour over chops. Cover and let simmer for about 30 minutes or until chops are done. Remove chops from pan. Combine cornstarch and water and add to sauce. Cook, stirring until thickened. Serve with noodles, rice or couscous.
