    Hot Dog Annie's Barbecue Sauce

    I've got to thank my Aunt Elaine for this one. She was able to procure this recipe ( a local "top secret") against all odds. She taught me more about cooking than any other single person I've ever known, and I miss her every day of my life.


    4 cups water
    4 cups catsup
    4 cups coarsely chopped Spanish onions
    1/4 of 5 oz. bottle Worcestershire sauce (1-1/4 oz.=1/8 cup + 1-1/2 tsp.)
    1/4 of 2 oz. Bottle Kitchen Bouquet (1/2 oz.=1 Tbsp.)
    1/4 of 1 lb. box brown sugar (4 oz.=1/2 cup)


    Combine all ingredients thoroughly and simmer for 30 to 60 minutes. Cook hot dogs in sauce.
    For authenticity: use Kayem hot dogs and Sunbeam rolls.
