    Easy Oven Beef Stew

    Here's another winner from my Aunt Tootie. You just throw it together and pop it in the oven and live your life for the next 5 hours while the oven does the rest. (You, however, get to take the bows!!!)


    2 lbs. stew beef cut into bite-size pieces
    5 onions cut into quarters
    1 cup chopped celery
    4 potatoes cut into eighths
    6 carrots cut into 1-inch pieces
    1 slice white bread, broken into cubes
    2 (8-oz.) cans Hunt's tomato sauce
    1 (8-oz.) can water
    salt, to taste
    ground black pepper, to taste


    Mix all ingredients in a roaster. Cover and bake at 250º F. for 5 hours.
