    This recipe has been handed down in our family for 5 generations. When my grandmother died I thought that the recipe had been lost forever. Three years ago I was going through some old family trunks and there it was, this recipe in my grandmother's handwriting. You can bet I now have not only the original but quite a few copies as well. Please be sure to follow the directions EXACTLY. Be sure to add flour one cup at a time, mixng well after each. Add one egg at a time beating well after each. Hope that you will enjoy this.

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup real butter (softened)
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups plain flour
    6 eggs
    1 teaspoon each lemon, vanilla, and butter flavoring
    1/2 teaspoon yellow food coloring

    Cream Crisco and sugar. Add flour one cup at a time. Mix well adding eggs one at a time beating well after each.
    Add flavoring and coloring. Mix well.
    Put in greased and floured tube pan.
