Big Daddys Bread Puddin w/Sauce

List of Ingredients
- 1 loaf french bread
- 1 quart of milk
- 4 eggs (beaten)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 cup raisins
- 3 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
- Sauce:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon flavoring (any flavor)
Instructions
- Whisk beaten egg into milk. Tear bread by hand into chunks and soak in milk and egg mixture.
- Crush with hands to make sure milk has soaked through.
- Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and raisins and stir well.
- Pour melted butter into a 9x13 baking dish to coat bottm and sides of pan.
- Add bread mixture. (can sprinkly more cinnamon and raisins on top)
- Bake until very firm, about 40 minutes. Cool.
- Sauce:
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Cook in double boiler until very hot and dissolved.
- Add well beaten egg slowly and whip very fast so egg doesn't curdle.
- Pour on bread pudding.
Final Comments
This can be done with any mixture of left over bread (biscuits, buns, etc)
