    Source of Recipe

    Vera Miles

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 - #10 can sliced peaches (drained)
    • 42 slices of white bread (with crust cut off)
    • 8 cups of white sugar
    • 1 cup self rising flour
    • 8 eggs (beaten)
    • 4 cups melted margarine

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    2. Place peaches into the bottom of a large buttered roaster pan.

    3. Cut each slice of bread into four strips and place over the peaches.

    4. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, egg and margarine.

    5. Pour over bread.

    6. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until center is done and it is golden brown.

    7. Cooking time may be longer because it is so large.

    8. You can make in two smaller pans and it will cook faster.

    Final Comments

An electric knife works well for cutting the bread.
This is great use for stale bread.
